It's not safe for use if you have young animals or children running around. This should have been mentioned on the page, instead I had to wait til I received the product to find out. At a $10 nonrefundable shipping price and no reimbursement for costs to send it back, it costs more to try to return it than to just keep it.

Max is 11 years old and has had to be medicated every summer for this problem.While doing research on flea control I read about nematodes and decided to give them a try.They have worked wonders for Max, this is the first summer he hasn't had a severe reaction to fleas!

After seeing how well they worked to control the fleas I bought some for the cabbage cut worms in our garden.I am pleased to say that in the 25 years we have had a garden this is the first year we haven't lost one head of cabbage yet.

Plus, if you are worried about this, we have checked a small specimen from each shipment with a microscope and found the nematodes to be alive and well upon receipt.Our grandchildren love watching them and get excited everytime we get a package.

Nematodes prey upon more than just fleas and cut worms so I suggest checking out the list of things they kill.If you have trouble with any of the pests on the list purchase some for yourself and I am sure you will be pleased with the results.Nematodes are microscopic wonders!

(More customer reviews)The product helped the older larger dogs a LOT more than what was offered locally or at the vet, but didn't kill ALL the fleas.I was just grateful that they were no longer scratching 24/7.However, when we treatedMom's 9 pound, 9 month old Yorkie-poo he had a severe reaction and went into shock and we thought we were going to lose him. He lived thanks to the vets suggestions.I'd test with a drop and wait at least 4-5 hours to make sure yours can tolerate it because it can't be thoroughly removed from their systems. If a reaction occurs you need to bathe them immediately with lots of soap and water to dilute what's on the skin and hasn't been absorbed, encourage them to drink lots of water, and keep them walking and awake until they start to rebound from the effects.As far as our vet knew, there is nothing else that can be done to save a pet from a severe reaction to any of the drops that are out, so treat them like you would yourself with any chemical you put on your skin and just try a tiny bit first.

The ingredients (at their website) are less harmful than many other brands out there, hence why I purchased them. One of the cats is allergic to fleas (hair loss) and I noticed after about 2 months his allergy was flared, so I replaced it and all was well again. I rated it 3 stars since it did not last 6 months as advertised, but otherwise seemed to work well.

Our little guy's neck is prone to hot spots in the summer and with this product he has had only two, which is great compared to the dozen he had last year this time with the heat, fleas & humidity. He scratches at his neck and, well, everywhere A LOT less so there are fewer places for the hot spots to get inflamed. I'm investing in 6 mos worth, we think it is the best for our dog. Also, our walking trails have ticks and he has not had one since using this product. Highly recommend. BTW, if your dog does develop hot spots we like two products to quickly relieve the pain & itch and clear up the swelling completely (overnight)...the first is an all natural citrus spray called Bergapet Pet Spray [...] and also Dermasol Skin Care Gel.

It is the Best medicine to stop an infestation-- you will see the fleas actually die before your eyes (not an exaggeration) put your dog or cat on a white towel and give him/her capstar and just watch what happens. UNLIKE other products, you can use Capstar in very young animals, even sick puppies and kittens. It is NOT long-lasting, but you can safely use it up to once per day. I used to work at a veterinary hospital and they gave Capstar and Program to animals that were infested with fleas, but sick, since they are safer alternatives to Advantage and Frontline (read the insert for Advantage, it actually says that it's not safe for sick animals OR kittens).

My cat is allergic to Frontline and Advantage, which are topical pesticides that get ingested when the cat grooms itself. He would get a lump on his neck wherever I would apply it, so I stopped using topical insecticide for flea control. I really like Program, and I use it in conjuction with Capstar if he picks up live fleas.

Even if your cat has a flea infestation, just give them Capstar and then use Program. Capstar which works faster than anything else, and kills all the fleas on your cat in 5-30 minutes, but is not long-lasting.

The people that give this product a bad review need to realize that if you cat is infested, you need to do something about the active fleas and the eggs. Program is an ovacide that prevents fleas from reproducing so it won't stop an infestation, but it's so much safer for your cat. Capstar works instantly to kill all biting fleas, but it won't last. So if you use both, you can control fleas completely without using a topical pesticide that is dangerous to your cat when it grooms itself.

As a side note, if your cat (or dog) ingest the fleas while they are grooming or licking themselves, sometimes they will get tapeworms, which look like little grains of rice near their anus and bedding. My cat gets tapeworms about every 2 years or so. You can purchase tapeworm tabs without a prescription now in the US. The medicine is called Praziquantel and is available online for about $15. So I have all three at my house and I'm all set.

It clearly states on the bottle:"Sensitivity may occur after using ANY pesticide product for pets.If any signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water..."

I had great success using De Flea Pet Shampoo and De Flea Pet and Bedding spray on my two dogs.There was no sensitivity like with regular pesticides.But most importantly of all, the flea infestation and itching stopped immediately. It's like a minor miracle.

I want to warn everyone. Do not use Hartz drops either as they are just as dangerous! The only safe flea/tick medication is frontline advantage available from your vet. Yes, it is more expensive but isn't your pet's life worth it? Please believe me, I am not making this up or exaggerating! I lost my female cat and my male cat is still recovering from this poison. Please Please Please be safe and listen to my warning.
