Our little guy's neck is prone to hot spots in the summer and with this product he has had only two, which is great compared to the dozen he had last year this time with the heat, fleas & humidity. He scratches at his neck and, well, everywhere A LOT less so there are fewer places for the hot spots to get inflamed. I'm investing in 6 mos worth, we think it is the best for our dog. Also, our walking trails have ticks and he has not had one since using this product. Highly recommend. BTW, if your dog does develop hot spots we like two products to quickly relieve the pain & itch and clear up the swelling completely (overnight)...the first is an all natural citrus spray called Bergapet Pet Spray [...] and also Dermasol Skin Care Gel.

(More customer reviews)I purchased it at my vet's office. My large 90 pound Golden had flees a little over 2 weeks later and the fleas on my Scotty never went away. Since I live in the south the fleas and tick problem are insane. Both my dogs are inside dogs unless they go out for an hour to play and potty. My Scotty had a tick on her and my Golden began getting hot spots all over from the fleas. Fed up I went back to the vet office and this time purchased Revolution which apparently covers fleas, ticks AND prevents heartworm all for the same price. Frontline doesn't cover against heartworm. My vet mentioned that Frontline is losing its effectiveness. Def. will not buy again.

(More customer reviews)I've been using frontline plus for awhile now (bought it straight from the vet). After spending time in the woods or camping I've found many ticks on my dogs; most of which have been bit into the skin.

I called frontline customer line and told them this. The woman said that this was perfectly normal, and that frontline is not a preventative tick medicine. Frontline works by killing ticks within 24-48 hours of biting into the dog!!! Doing a little research online I found that 36hrs is the average time that a Tick could potentially begin to transmit Lyme disease. Some ticks begin transmitting the disease immediately.Dog owners need to know that frontline is better than nothing, and will kill ticks, but not necessarily before they are able to transmit disease to your dog.... This fact was confirmed by frontline's customer support line.

(More customer reviews)Our 2 puppies got it this year and, as far as I can tell, they are bug-free so far. I can't say whether this is because of Frontline or because there are no fleas in surroundings but, until evidence to the contrary emerges, I will give Frontline the credit.

The makers claim that Frontline Plus kills all fleas and prevents re-infestation for up to one month. For 'paralysis tick' protection, bi-weekly application is recommended but results are not guaranteed.

The product comes in a number of 'pipettes' that contain an oily-sticky liquid that is applied on the back of the dog's neck's, on the skin (must part the coat until the skin is visible). The makers recommend monthly applications.

I found it easy to treat the dogs. Given the relatively high price of this product, I've been using one pipette for our 2 puppies. As they are now big, this may no longer be an option but I can see how this option could be a money saver for anyone who has 2 'not so large' dogs.

I am taking one star away because of the ridiculously high price.

(More customer reviews)In my household of several cats, many of whom enjoy going outdoors (and bringing occasional things inside, including fleas), we need something to keep the pests (the fleas, not the cats) under control. Frontline is one of the better products available for this purpose.

I've tried other solutions - flea collars, products from other sources, and have only found one other item that matches the Frontline effectiveness for eliminating fleas. Within a day of the first use, the cats had stopped scratching and licking incessantly at their fleas. One of my cats is particularly allergic to fleas, and breaks out with sores at the flea bites - for him, Frontline is nothing short of a miracle.

I have known cats to have serious reactions to the flea drops from some companies. My cats have had absolutely no bad reactions to the Frontline applications.

This is a product I will definitely buy again. My cats give this a big 16 paw salute (four cats, four paws each, you get the drift).

This stuff does what is say.It stops fleas.So do your pets the favor.They will thank you.It's given once a month on their shoulder blades.Nothing I have ever used works this good.

Caution:Some cats get determined to twist themselves in a pretzel to lick this.I can caused them to foam at the mouth and make them hyper for about 24 hours after.Solution is easy.Take an old sock and trim the toes for an opening for kitty's head and the cut two arm holes.Makes a kitty' vest and will keep them from licking their shoudlers.Keep them in it for about 24-36 hours.No problems.

(More customer reviews)My dog is a Chow mix and very furry. Ticks are impossible to find under her two layered coat until it's too late. At first, I tried cheaper brands. They work on ticks but do nothing for fleas. Then my vet recommended Frontline. I later tried K9 Advantix since they claim to also kill mosquitos, but I didn't notice any difference with the little bloodsuckers. And the protection from K9 Advantix didn't seem to last as long so I switched back to Frontline.

Frontline works great for us. My dog is an outdoor dog and our county reportedly has more deer than people. And with deer come deer ticks. I've seen deer in my back yard and my dog's house is very near the woods for shade. And she likes to take the occasional jaunt through the woods. Still I rarely find a tick on her. And when I do, they're usually dead (or soon will be).

I wish I'd known Amazon was selling Frontline for a better price sooner. I've been purchasing only 3 months worth for about $50 from another site for the last 2 years. Very frustrating since before you know it, you're out. With 6 months worth I only have to remember 2 times a year instead of 4.
