I recommend purchasing from PSC pets dot com, as their prices are comparable, and their shipping cost is fair.

This item is a under the 1 lb rate, so should cost under $4.00 to ship, unlike the seller here on Amazon I noted is shipping for $6.50.

What a rip off. That caused me to do a search for compare prices online.

(More customer reviews)I've used this a few times over the past 2 years.I live in an area which has lots of trees and can be overrun with bugs in the summertime.All types too, spiders, ants, carpet beetles etc.It does a really good job when I spray the outside of the house around the doors and the windows and in the overhangs where spiders like to camp.Works well around outside lighting as well, seems to do a really nice job if applied before the bugs get there.Spraying inside the house along works great as well for keeping bugs at bay, especially carpet beetles.

Only downsides are that this does not kill silverfish, and some types of spiders appear unaffected by it.It says on the package that it takes care of them but my basement still has a problem even after repeated uses of the product.Which is too bad because these things are monsters and I hate them with a passion, still haven't found a product that can effectively kill them.The other downside, as someone else pointed out, there is a lingering smell for a day or two after application.It's not terrible it's just not pleasant.

Overall for the price I'd say it's a good product.The application takes a little while if you have a large or tall house but if you hate bugs and don't want to spend the hundreds of bucks for exterminator service this is a good product which will save you money and keep a lot of the bugs away.

(More customer reviews)I have used Pyrethrin many years for general insect control, inside and outside, with great results. In my opinion, it is one of the best natural insecticides available on the market. The reason for 3 stars is that I was not aware of the difference between Pyrethrin and Permethrin, and there is no mention of this anywhere in the product description. When I searched Amazon for Pyrethrin, both products came up leading me to believe they were the same, only labeled differently.

The difference being Pyrethrin is a natural extract from the chrysanthemum plant, and will not harm mammals, fish, or, birds. Permethrin belongs to the family of synthetic chemicals called Pyrethroids. It is extremely toxic to fish and cats, and has been linked to poisoning dogs as a flea/tick repellent. It is not as environmentally safe to use as Pyrethrin. Therefore, it is not the same thing, and I think buyers need to be made aware of this. Permethrin does work very well for general insect control, but I would be very cautious using it on dogs, or livestock for flea/tick and fly control. If you are looking for a "natural" insecticide, pay more for Pyrethrin. Otherwise this is a good product for general insect control, and is certainly less toxic than many commercial insecticide alternatives.

(More customer reviews)Nice/Big cans, but the Spray button/engagement locking mechanism doesn't work properly... when engaged, the can would only spray for a few seconds.I had to manually engage the spraying/fogging button (not supposed to, but I held my breath each time)... having to repeatadely vigorously shake and re-engage the button to get the contents out of the can.

I used this Cypermethrin-based spray in combination with a competitor's smaller Permethrin-based spray can, and they seem to have killed the bugs (crickets) OK, but next time I'm going to try a "just add water" type fumigator.

(More customer reviews)Just got my order of these tablets today.Thought I was getting a really good deal with 1000 but I have to use twice as many as with my usual brand.I was using 1 per 10 lbs.; these require 2 per 10 lbs.So I must use twice as many so it is not nearly the bargain I thought.But the worse part is thatliver and peanut butter are both listed in the description above ingredients and neither of these are listed on the ingredients on the bottle.

The ingredients on the bottle are:Brewer's Dried Yeast, Montmoriilonite Clay, Diccalcim Phospahate, Garlic, Natureal Flavoring, Stearic Acid, Silica Aerogel, Hydrogenated CottonseedOil, Magnesium, Stearate, Dried Whey, Vegetable Oil, Niacin supplement. Riblflavin, Ascorbic Acid, and Thiamine Mononitrate.

I am not even sure some of this this stuff is good for my dogs.Will have to figure out what the heck all this is. I may be sending it back.

FOLLOW UP: This company corrected their misinformation within a couple of days and offered me a full refund including shipping after I sent them an email.Very honest.

I have used over-the-counter, less expensive items (flea powders, flea collars, etc.) up to and including other topical products like this one, and nothing worked. The flea collars were less than worthless - they actually caused patches of fur to fall out on at least one cat. The powder was unwieldy, and the other topical applications (save one) did not work at all.

I must give credit where credit is due - I have used Frontline before for my cats, and have been very satisfied with the results from that one. However, I decided to try Advantage this time, as I'd heard good things about it, and it was on sale at a discount when I needed it. I couldn't be more pleased. Unlike most other topical applications where the flea substance is put on the shoulder blades of the cats and stinks (STINKS!), this has no easily discernable smell.

This is a good thing. Also, the cats seemed to settle down from their scratching and biting at fleas within just a few minutes. Last night was the first night in weeks that the cats have all rested peacefully. There were no signs of flea-dirt left in their usual sleeping spaces last night. I am very pleased indeed.

My cats are also happy. While I still have an appreciation for Frontline, I am happy to have Advantage as a viable alternative.

The cats give this a sixteen-paw salute! (Four cats, four paws each, you know...)
