(More customer reviews)This yard spray really does the job especially if you have more of a tick problem than a flea problem.Here in Hawaii, there are a lot of ticks.I usually use Frontline Plus, which worked wonders for my two GSDs who also go to obedience school.Anyhow, one month I forgot, and suddenly there is a tick epidemic in my yard and on my dogs.

So, I ordered some of this spray that I had used a long time ago in the past.The packaging was the same.But there was one problem this time.When you get the box, it comes with a child-safe cap that has a foil seal inside.The spray attachment and inner tube/cap are separate.This tube and inner cap is supposed to fit nicely inside the neck of the bottle so that you can easily screw on the sprayer attachment.So, following the instructions, I took off the foil seal and attempted to put in the tube with the plastic cap.The tube fell out of the inner cap part, and into the bottle.Since this was a new bottle, the concentrate was full, and impossible to get the tube part out without spilling the liquid!I ended up using a thin stick I found in the yard to help fish it out.So, I put the tube back into the inner cap, and then a second problem!

This time, the cap part didn't fit in the neck of the bottle!So, I tried forcing it, and suddenly the bottle "gave" out a little and the concentrated formula overflowed on the outside of the bottle.At this point I was getting pretty grumpy and thinking what the heck, this didn't happen the last time I used this brand!Since I orderd two boxes, I opened up the second box and there was the same problem. So I ended up having to use my brass hose nozzle and scraped it around the bottle opening to "stretch" it out a little.I finally got the cap to fit properly and then attached the sprayer.I then turned on the hose with the sprayer on "off" as per the instructions.Suddenly, the sprayer broke apart and I was blasted with water.Thankfully it was only the end part attached to the hose that somehow snapped off.I was able to snap it back on and turning down the water, proceeded to use it on my lawn.

Overall this is a good product and it works.I guess maybe the bottle and sprayer were made in China since the quality was really poor compared to the last time I used it.

(More customer reviews)I bought the fogger pack and I have a 1400 sq ft apartment, all one floor.I vacuumed the place like crazy, dusted the carpets with the flea carpet dust.Vacuumed an hour later.

Now the foggers.It says it covers 4000 sq ft.But just in case, I opened all the doors to the 6 rooms of the apartment, and set off 1 in each open area.

Came back 4 hours later.And fleas jumped on my feet.No change at all.Unbelievable.plus, I haven't met one person who said it worked for them.

In a rental at the beach I encountered a large flea infestation after moving in.It was just a matter of spaying one time to solve the problem.Highly reocmmended.

Nothing we bought over the counter or that her doctor prescribed could get rid of them.I was in a local pet store and saw these Flea Zapper combs.I took a chance and bought one thinking if it works on fleas maybe it will work on head lice.Not only did it kill the lice but also the nits. My daughter combed her hair with it each night for a week.She has not had head lice since then.So many people borrowed ours we have lost track of it so now I'm buying another one, but this time for our pets. (I don't recommend using on wet hair).I'm really surprised it is not packaged and sold as a head lice control for people - probably has something to do with the FDA.

Seven Month Flea Killer Spray, 1 Gal Review

(More customer reviews)I was having flea problems after visiting a friends house.I had over 30+ bites within 24hrsand caught on/about 15 fleas within a 2 day period.I tried the powdered stuff from Petco, but it was way too messy and wasn't really that effective as I hoped (caught another 5 fleas that night).

On the 3rd day, I got fed up due to the lack of sleep and paranoia of getting bit again.I went to Home Depot and purchased this.I shook the contents, inserted the spray hose, and started spraying in a sweeping motion over the carpet.You might want to hold your breath while spraying since you aren't supposed to inhale this stuff and wear gloves, pants, and shoes to avoid any skin contact.After the vapor dissipates, there is no smell, and dries (in a warm day) on/about 30 minutes which is nice!You can stay home during the drying process which is great!After that, you can freely walk around regularly (without shoes) as long as it is dry.I tested my legs again that night using it as bait at the computer room (where I caught the most fleas) and checked it regularly.4hrs went by and nothing!Talk about relief!

So I'd have to say, this stuff is low maintenance and it works!

(More customer reviews)So it would seem that there are a lot of fleas outside this year. We don't even have pets and we have fleas inside now. I guess they hitchhiked in on our clothing. Now they are inside and having a ball biting us. We've been sweeping a lot because I read that is the most effective thing to do. However there are those they get away. They don't want caught. They always seem to be finding us. So I picked up a couple of these traps. They seem to work well at attracting and catching the stragglers. The trap is basically a nightlight bulb suspended over a grid that has a sticky pad under it. The fleas are attracted to the heat and light from the bulb and jump at it and then fall through the grid onto the sticky pad. I know you can do the same thing with a lamp and a bowl of soapy water on the floor but these traps are nice because you can grab them and move them around easily without accidentally spilling or having to change the water all the time. My kid leaves it alone too, he thinks it is his new nightlight. I don't think we have a bad infestation but I caught the most the first couple of nights and then it has dropped off to a couple now and then so I think sweeping and these traps have been helping and will soon eliminate the fleas. Overall I think this trap is a great supplement to whatever arsenal you choose to use in the battle against the fleas.

(More customer reviews)If you have a vacuum with a HEPA filter, vacuum every day and use this for overnight.Use Frontline from the vet, it's better than Advantage from the pet store.They are all I've ever used and found them to be completely effective.It takes awhile: you have to be diligent.And just before you go to bed, fling the sheets off the bed and grab the ones hiding there about where your ankles hit the sheets.

I've had one of these things for 15 years.Used it once that long ago and the problem completely disappeared and I never had another problem until now.I frantically looked at hardware stores for the refills, but couldn't find them, and was amazed to find them here.I bought two sets of refills just in case. These things are great: highly recommended, but you also have to vacuum daily for about two months.

(More customer reviews)At first I didn't see but one flea on the trap so I decided I may have chose a poor location.I moved it closer to wear my dogs sleep at night and it appears to be working.The trap has gotten pretty full in a matter of days and not only caught fleas but mosquito's and other tiny flying creatures I was unaware flew in.

It's not the only solution to having a flew problem but it's been a big help to me.You will still need to use a flea comb and comb your pets every day or other day out doors, and you'll still need to treat your yard due to other animals coming around.I put "Dawn" dish soap in a bowl with water and dip the comb in between combing my pets.The ones I don't get with the comb the flea trap seems to get, so I think I have this whole flea situation under control now.I would recommend this product at helping to get rid of fleas.

Springstar S102 Flea Trap Review

(More customer reviews)Fleas can be an annoying problem to have in your house. They're tiny, annoying little insects. It's a difficult problem to tackle, and you need to do so from several angles.

This flea trap is a big help in targeting certain areas of your home, particularly where your pets frequent. We set this trap up by the couch and there were a lot of fleas in it after one night. I was really impressed. You can move it to different rooms if you need to, and it has a nice long cord so you're not stuck near the wall. Definately a nice additions to your flea arsenal.

However, don't rely on it as your only means of tackling the flea problem. I found several home rememdies to use if you're not comfortable using chemicals and other artificial means. Mix 3 parts of borax and 1 part of salt and sprinkle it on your carpet and furniture. Wait half an hour and vaccum it off. The borax will kill any living fleas and the salt will dry out the eggs. Repeat for a week or two.

As for your animals, giving them a bath with a flea shampoo, or even regular dish soap. Just make sure you don't get it their eyes or anything.Combing also makes a big difference. Dunk the comb in a bowl of soapy water and swish it around to kill any fleas on the comb. If you find a few stuck in the teeth, you can use tweezers to pick them out and either dunk them in the water or burn them with a candle lighter. Be careful! Safety first! Watch for nearby flammables!

For yourself, I used a spray on insect repellent. Look for special tick and flea repellents in a store or online. Usually in the form of lotions, too. Avon's Skin so Soft is helpful.

Using the trap and other methods, you can diffently make your flea problem much more manageable, or even non-existant.

Fleabusters Rx for Fleas Plus (3 lb) Review

(More customer reviews)I currently have 5 healthy indoor cats. They range from 6-years old to seven months. The two younger cats I had up for adoption for a few weeks along with their littermates at a local cat rescue shelter. During their stay at shelter they must have picked up some fleas. I used a flea comb on a kitten last week and noticed a bit of flea dirt. I treated all the cats with Advantage (Flea control) and washed and sterilized all their bedding along with practically everything else in the house that was washable. As a last step to preventing any major flea outbreak I ordered a 3-lb container of Fleabusters RX from Amazon.com. I followed the manufacturer's directions while applying it to my carpets. I thoroughly raked it deep into the carpet. Because of cold winter weather and dry inside air, my home is currently charged with static electricity. So much so that when I pet my cats their fur snaps and pops with static. Apparently because of the static, the Fleabusters powder was sticking to my cats after they crossed the freshly treated carpet. My shinny black cat was covered with a fine talcum coating of flea power especially near his legs and paws. While I was out for the evening, my statically charged cats must have continued to play with their toys and roll on the carpet picking up additional flea power in their fur. When I got home late that evening the first cat started throwing up. Then, all through the night I was constantly awakened by all five cats retching and vomiting. The frequent vomiting continued throughout the next day and was joined by extreme water like diarrhea. I contacted the Emergency Poison Control Center, paid their $30.00 fee and I was told my cats were experiencing all the symptoms of Orthoboric poisoning (Active ingredient in Fleabusters RX.) I contacted Fleabusters and explained to them how my cats were poisoned by their flea power. Fleabusters assured me that mine was a unique experience and promised they would research this incident. Because cats are fastidious cleaners and lick themselves constantly there is always a chance under the right conditions that Fleabusters RX, or any other flea power or even talcum powder, could harm your cat if it ingests enough of it. My cats are all young and healthy so they should fully recover with no long term side effects. Old, sick and very young cats might be more at risk. If you are concerned about your cat ingesting this power you may want to keep your cat confined to one room while you treat the rest of your carpet. Then, after a few days you can start vacuuming again and most of the lose power will be gone. Once the loose power has been vacuumed you could then allow your cat access to the treated carpet.

(More customer reviews)I must admit I was very skeptical about this, but decided to give it a try out of sheer desperation, and based on the favorable reviews on Amazon.I've got a flea issue with my bedroom carpet, and have tried sprays, continuous vacuuming, boric acid treatments, and dosing my pet with Frontline & Advantage products.While the Advantage works pretty darn well ON the pet, the carpet was still infested no matter what I tried. I plugged in this little contraption on the floor next to my bed, and within TWO HOURS I've already captured 18 fleas, and can actually SEE them hopping across the carpet to get to the trap! I think this is a brilliant, safe, pesticide-free solution to dealing with those pesky little ankle-biting devils that hide in the carpet! I'll continue to vacuum, but I intend to keep this thing plugged in at all times to grab the ones that get away or are newly hatched. Don't hesitate to buy this product!
