(More customer reviews)That I decided to try this instead of just going and getting the frontline plus. Hmmm lets see how many bad things I can say about it. The smell is strong and will take your breath away. The ingredients in it are toxic to cats which I found out after I put it on and decided to read up on it. (I am an idiot) The cats went absolutely nuts once it was put on. It spread all down there sides and there hair was oily. I had to give the cats a bath which is what I was trying to avoid by buying the spot on to begin with. If I could give this product a negative number I would.

(More customer reviews)I found this product effective, and reasonably priced (as always, shop around).Fleas have been worse this year than before, and we had to shampoo all the cats & dogs (ineffective, Zodiac shampoo from PetCo did not get all the fleas on the cats - some survived), fogged the house twice, put orthoboric acid powder in the carpets & crevices (helps, but is slow acting), and finally tried this product on a group of the cats - it was effective, so we bought enough to treat all the cats (and Frontline for the 2 dogs - read too many negative reaction stories about the Sargents Sentry product for dogs - no personal experience with it on dogs). I can say this product works well for cats, and we treated 24 different cats with no adverse reactions - a pretty good test.

"If ingested, the peppermint plant and its oil could indeed potentially cause harm to your cat. Cats are especially sensitive to peppermint oil, and effects such as gastrointestinal upset, central nervous system depression and even liver damage could occur if ingested in significant quantities. Some peppermint oil formulations also contain aspirin derivatives, which could result in additional toxicity. Furthermore, if inhalation of the volatile oil were to occur, aspiration pneumonia may be possible. Based on this, we would not recommend using peppermint leaves or oil in areas where your cat is allowed access."

My guess is you put this junk on your cat and now it's freaking out and you're wondering anyone else has had the same experience.Yes, this product is AWFUL.DO NOT USE IT.

No, I am not some hyper-sensitive pet owner.Yes, I do realize that anything you use to kill fleas probably has some potential for side effects.I am not talking some minor irritation.I am simply floored that the manufacturer could be this stupid to put something like this on the market.

(More customer reviews)I really wish I had looked this product up online before I purchased it at a local chain petstore. It says that it's all natural, so I thought what could be wrong with that? After reading all the bad reviews I've seen about this product, why is it even offered for sale? My experience with it? I applied it to all 3 of our indoor cats about a week ago. Immediately, the strong spicy fumes were irritating my cats' eyes and mine. It also made my sinuses go crazy for at least 2 days. My cats are indoor only so no way to diffuse the smell at all, I ran the ceiling fans to no avail. The odor is still lingering a week later as well as the yucky oily residue on the cats' necks. Now nobody wants to pet them due to the oil slick and the stink. The cats still seem to have irritated eyes from the fumes. I honestly can't say it's even killing any fleas, all 3 cats are still scratching like mad a week later and they are not happy at all. They are pretty much sulking and staying away from us, not normal behavior for them. Now that I've read these terrible results from this product, I want it off my cats!! NOW!! It's so oily! How do I safely get this stuff off my cats who are severely afraid of the bathtub?? I've used a wet paper towel to try to wipe it off but that's not really helping much. I don't want my cats to suffer any ill effects from a stupid so-called all natural flea product...wish I knew about that sooner! I will never buy anything from this brand again. Make SAFE products for our pets!

(More customer reviews)Thank goodness for Natural Defense.We have been struggling with the other poisonous options on our two shih-tzus.Poor Henry was having terrible & frightening reactions to them.With Natural Defense, the dogs have no reaction when we apply it, and we've not had fleas or ticks -- and this is the second month we've used it.

Only minor downside is the strong smell for the first few days after application.It's not a bad smell -- just spicy.My husband says it smells like "Christmas."Well, Christmas on over-drive.

I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a natural alternative to the chemical repellents.
