(More customer reviews)Our 2 and a half year old orange tabby Oliver died last night because of SERGEANT'S GOLD SQUEEZE ON FOR CATS flea and tick treatment. Oliver was an extremely healthy and loving cat. In a little more than 24 hours he went from playing with his favorite toy, a laser, to dead. On Wednesday August 31, 2010 we applied some of this horrible product. We followed the directions accurately. On Thursday he was acting different. He had been hiding all day and refused to play with his laser. That night we decided to take him to the emergency room for precautionary reasons. The veterinarian suggested we leave him in the hospital over night for observation. We left the vet's office at 10:45 PM. At about 12:00am, an hour and 15 minutes after we had left him we got a phone call from the hospital. That was probably one of the worst if not the worst phone call I've ever received. The vet said that we applied the medication correctly and that Oliver had only ingested a minimal amount of it. The problem was that his skin absorbed the product and it got into his bloodstream causing organ failure. There was nothing the veterinarians could do to save him. I could not sleep that night. I kept thinking about all the forums I readonline that I didn't believe. I honestly thought my cat was going to be just fine because he was eating and still came out of hiding for treats. Little did I know that this product was slowly killing him. PLEASE believe me when I say DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. The veterinarians told us that these over the counter products are NOT safe. I know that the flea medications that are prescribed by a veterinarians are expensive, but I would pay 10,000 times that to have Oliver back.Please please please spread the word about these medications. I've had animals my entire life and I never knew how dangerous they were. I don't understand how it is even allowed to be on the market. Sergeant's website even says that when used properly it is safe on animals. THIS IS A LIE. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Please find any other alternative to treat fleas. Because in the end I would take a flea infested Oliver as oppose to no Oliver at all.

(More customer reviews)It works well. The main things I have found with Program is that it takes awhile to get into the system. You won't see immediate results here. It really kicked in good on the 3 to 4 month and from that point on no more eggs, larva or baby fleas. The other thing is it must remain in their blood stream so it has to be given every 30 days. For it to work right you have to kind of commit yourself to using it on a regular basis for the longhaul . I think it is worth doing. It does work very well at what it does

(More customer reviews)I purchased both 6 month bio Spot on for Medium size 31 to 60 lbs and 6 month bio Spot on for puppies, toys and miniatures under 15 lbs I have two dogs weighing 50 lbs and 56 lbs I also have 3 very small inside dogs. I used a good dip about a week before applying the bio Spot. It's been 30 days and the dogs all still have the fleas.I went into the bio Spot web site to find out if there was an expiration date because the packages I received were packaged in 2006 .....bio Spot says the product it good for 2 to 3 years if stored properly.

(More customer reviews)Sargeant's Gold and other products by Hartz are garbage.Enter the name in a google or bing search.Check out the hundreds of people who have found out the hard way that their products have extreme side effects, up to and including death of the animal.Talk to your vet BEFORE you use any over the counter product.Stick with FRONTLINE and similar products which DO NOT enter the bloodstream.

I used Sargeant's Gold flea and tick medicine and my 7 lb. HavaMalt (Havanese and Maltese) has been sick all night.He has been going nuts scratching and itching.He can't sit still.This medicine contains a pesticide that enters the blood stream.Side effects include excessive drooling, itching, vomiting, diarrhea, convulsions, seizures and unfortunately, death.

They do not label their products with a list of side effects nor do they state in emergencies to call your vet.

Please check this out so your animal and you do not have to learn the hard way.I am on the way to my vet right now.
