(More customer reviews)This is basically a generic version of Capstar.Not only is it cheaper, you get more pills per container. We have had the worst flea season ever and spraying alone didn't seem to make a dent since our pets spend a lot of time outside and the yard is too big to completely cover with insecticide. After we tried the capsules on our pets the adult fleas started dying within 30 minutes. As suggested we sprayed the house and outside area with a home insecticide to kill eggs and larvae that are not affected by these pills.They work by poisoning the adult flea when it bites the dog, so therefore the more eggs you kill beforehand will help reduce the number of capsules you have to give your dog.Also works on our indoor cat as well and they are MUCH happier after just one week.They suggested giving a dose daily for heavily infested dogs (esp. if they are kept outdoors)until you notice a great improvement. We gave one tablet each day for two days, then skipped a day, then skipped 2 days. We only see a couple of fleas falling off our dog now and she isn't scratching.

Would also work if you don't want to spray for the flea eggs, but would have to give the tablets over a longer period of time since the fleas would continually hatch. In effect, you would have to wait until every egg hatched and bit your dog so they would no longer appear.
