Within 4 hours for dogs, and 6 hours for cats, tests have proven that up to 98% of adult fleas on the animal are no longer a problem, because their little flea souls have departed from their grubby bodies. Capstar, used along with a topical like Advantage, a flea comb and some housecleaning (remember to get rid of what has accumulated in the vacuum), should take care of any flea problem. Capstar is also safe enough for repeated dosage, and I have never seen a cat or even a small kitten adversely affected by taking it.

Living as I do in Southern California, the fleas seem to invade in the hot, muggy days of August, and even if your cats are indoor kitties like mine, they can get infected.
