(More customer reviews)Hartz Mountain's flea and tick products have a deplorable safety record over the years.Their products have been Cancelled (terminated) by the EPA (2005 Cancellation Order) for unacceptable health risks to cats and kittens and their dog flea and tick products are among those currently being investigated today by the Environmental Protection Agency (see EPA Public Advisory, April 2009 and May 2009).Their reprehensible safety record goes back to the 1980's when their product "Blockade" was pulled from the marketplace.Their products have accounted for thousands of reported injuries and deaths to cats and dogs.Please be careful when considering products like these that have very high volumes of pesticide neurotoxins (phenothrin, 85.7% volume).In Hartz's products, this is the highest volume of pesticide neurotoxin in the industry and is very dangerous to animals. The ingredient phenothrin has been banned as a lawn insecticide but, incomprehensibly, Hartz has been allowed to continue using it in their dog products (terminated by the EPA in Hartz's cat/kitten products in 2005). Please speak with your veterinarian before applying this product to your pet.Please don't learn the hard way and have your companion injured or killed because of the convenience of buying these despicable products in grocery stores, drug stores or PetSmart and Petco.Do a little research--take a look at [...] or [...] and see what thousands of other pet owners have to say about these reprehensible products.Your pet deserves better and so do you.
